No surprise then that a translator living outside of their mother-country finds it difficult to produce contemporary texts – using appropriate style and terminology.

So, whenever possible, we work with translators that live and work in their mother-tongue countries – something made possible by our investment in high-speed data and telecommunications technology.

Every year, thousands of translators approach us for work – but we only take on the best after a thorough vetting process. And we only keep the best through an ongoing system of continual assessment.

Our translators:

• only work into their mother-tongue (one day all agencies will work in this way)
• usually (98 percent) live and work in their mother-countries
• are all professionally qualified linguists
• all belong to a professional translators’ association, where available – either in the UK or in-country
• have specialist subject knowledge for a given project
• are thoroughly assessed before they are added to our database
• are continuously assessed and monitored by our staff and by external moderators
• regularly have their work signed-off by our clients’ regional offices
